2v2 Hellgate builds
Three setups run in 2v2 and each one wants completely different weapons, so a build that is top tier in heal dps can be unplayable in double dps. Find your setup below, then check the matchups page to see what it loses to.
Heal dps
One damage and one healer. The safest setup and the one most duos should start on, since the healer covers the mistakes you will definitely make while learning gates.
- BloodletterDamage
- HallowfallHealer
- Redemption StaffHealer
- RealmbreakerDamage
- Carving SwordDamage
- SpirithunterDamage
- Blight StaffHealer
- Infernal ScytheDamage
- DawnsongDamage
- Lifecurse StaffHealer
- LongbowDamage
- Great Holy StaffHealer
Stun dps
One damage and one stunner instead of a healer. You trade all of your sustain for a guaranteed kill window, so the whole setup lives or dies on whether the stun lands.
- Camlann MaceStun
- BloodletterDamage
- Bedrock MaceStun
- RealmbreakerStun and damage
- Hoarfrost StaffStun
- Infernal ScytheDamage
- Occult StaffStun
- Black Monk StaveStun
- GrailseekerDamage
- Icicle StaffStun too slow
Double dps
Two damage builds and no safety net. It kills faster than anything else in the mode, but a single mistake usually ends the gate, so both of you need an escape and neither of you can afford to be caught out of position.
- BloodletterDive and reset
- SpirithunterSelf healing
- Prowling StaffMobility
- Carving SwordLifesteal
- RealmbreakerBurst
- Infernal ScytheNo escape
- Wailing BowGood disengage
- LocusNeeds distance
- GrovekeeperToo slow to escape
- DawnsongDies to any dive
Picking your setup
Heal dps forgives mistakes, stun dps punishes them, and double dps does neither, so the right pick depends much more on how well you and your partner communicate than on which weapons you own. If you are queueing with a random, take heal dps, because the other two setups need a call made at the right second and a random will not make it.
